Setter Vision

WHY SETTER VISION?

I want to share my story through Setter Vision because I want to inspire younger athletes to be the best versions of themselves much like I was inspired by older athletes when I was younger. I want to encourage young athletes to have faith in God and follow Him throughout their athletic career and throughout any future endeavors.

Something I love about volleyball is the feeling I get while playing. There’s something about the rush of adrenaline that hits me when I step foot on the court. I also love the friendships I form. Both on and off the court I have a strong and unbreakable bond with my teammates.

I integrate my Christian faith when playing volleyball because I have a tradition of praying before every game I play. Whether this is an individual prayer or a group prayer with my team, it is my ideal “pregame ritual.”

What does it mean to "Run the Race with Perseverance"?

To “run the race with perseverance” means that no matter what is going on, always remember that God has a plan for every individual person. If you are ever going through a hard time just remember that it is part of His plan – “Stars cannot shine without darkness.”

How do you "Give Everything" both on and off the court?

I give everything on the court by always trying my best and working hard at practice and in games. Off of the court, I focus on maintaining good grades and keeping up with my studies.

How do you "Keep Your Eyes on Jesus" while playing volleyball?

I “keep my eyes on Jesus” while playing by being a leader to my teammates. Without Him as an example of leadership, I would not be the leader I am today to my teammates. His presence has impacted and has showed me how to be a true leader to my teammates.
